Best Coffee Shops in Austin

Best Coffee Shops in Austin

Whenever I have some downtime, there's nothing I like more than cozying up in one of my favorite coffee shops to read, catch up on work, write, or chat with a friend. Austin has so many amazing spots, and they all have something different to offer. Read on for a list of my go-to spots in Austin to recharge and get caffeinated.

Manana

I would definitely consider this spot to be my number one favorite...mostly because of their incredibly delicious assortment of pastries. I am such a sucker for anything sweet, and their pastry selection is hard to beat. Must try: vegan banana "bread" cookie, macarons, and everything kolache. Aside from that, they have great coffee...I usually opt for a cappuccino, but I love their gold milk latte, americano, and matcha latte as well! The atmosphere is lovely, with thoughtful decor, curated bouquets by Bricolage, and tons of natural light.

Merit Coffee

This spot was a much-needed addition to the Seaholm District. They serve up delicious lattes, cortados, and a variety of pastries in a small, yet lovely atmosphere. They originally started in San Antonio, but we're excited to have a spot in Austin now as well! If you're hungry, opt for the artisan pop tart, donut (ever-changing flavors), or Tacodeli tacos. This is a great coffee shop if you're looking to bunker down and get some work done, they even offer free refills on their house coffee!

Patika

Patika is my go-to place for meeting up with a friend to grab coffee/lunch and catch up. It's not always my favorite place to work because it can get crowded and be distracting. However, their coffee is delicious and they have an amazing selection of food and freshly baked pastries. There's a food truck in the back, so you can get waffles, avocado toast, breakfast sandwiches, smoked salmon plate, and lots more. They also offer wine, beer, cheese and charcuterie plates! If you're taking a meeting or simply want to grab a quick lunch and coffee, this is the perfect place.

Brew and Brew

I've been coming here for a long time...even before it turned into Brew and Brew (it had a different name + vibe.) This coffee shop is the best of both worlds because you can stock up on caffeine and work, but they also have an extensive assortment of beer, wine, and cider on draft and in bottles. This spot definitely has more of a "hipster" vibe, but it's the perfect place to work, study, or meet up with friends! Side note: their food selection is minimal, but they do offer bagels, kolaches, and a few pastries.

Le Politique

While I know this place is technically a fabulous French restaurant, it's also a nice spot to grab a latte and croissant. They recently opened up their expanded bakery and coffee bar, where you can quickly pop in to grab something on the go. However, there's also plenty of seating in their bar area where I love to grab a bite + coffee while getting some work done. I ate the most incredible croissant I've ever tasted at Le Politique, so I highly recommend trying it! The atmosphere is gorgeous and well thought-out (every detail is perfection). Go-to spot downtown for a coffee, lunch or dinner date!
